Christmass and New Year 2008

All are very much welcome to come and celebrate the birth of Christ at Christmass.
The birth of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, to a young virgin called Mary speaks powerfully of how God interacts and communicates with his beloved people. That God should walk among us in the person of Jesus is in itself a miracle. The virgin birth of Christ speaks to us of the relevance of that miracle. That God loves his people so much that he was prepared to become one of them, to share the celebrations and joys as well as the sorrows and tears, so that all may know of his love and through that love be saved. Come and give thanks with us for the most precious gift in the world, given as a weak and vulnerable baby born into poverty. Come and celebrate the birth of Jesus...

Carol Service by Candlelight
Come and join us as we prepare for the coming of the Christ with favourite Christmass Carols, choral pieces and seasonal readings, all set to candlelight in the beautiful surroundings of Saint Michael's Church.
Wednesday 24th December 2008 (Christmas Eve) at 5:00 PM
Crib Service
A short family service when we build the Crib as the nativity story is read to us. Favourite childrens carols and the opportunity for children to assist in the building of the Crib make this service a very special occasion for all.
Wednesday 24th December 2008 (Christmas Eve) at 11:30 PM
Sung Midnight Mass
We welcome the Christ Child, Emmanuel (God with us) as Mass is sung by candlelight and the Nativity completed by the placing of the image of the baby Jesus in the Crib. This service brings home something of the wonderful mystery of Christmass. All are very much welcome.
