Vocations
God calls all of his people into his service, all are called to serve God and work for the building up of his kingdom on earth that the world may beleive. From among his faithful people God calls men to serve him in the ministerial priesthood, to be shepherds of his flock and to represent him on earth.
Saint Michael's takes serioulsy the mandate to discern vocations to the Sacred Priesthood and Distinctive Diaconate and prayers regularly for an increase in vocations both to the priesthood, diaconate and to the religious (monastic) life.
Over the past fifteen years Saint Michael's has produced and nurtured 10 candidates for the Sacred Priesthood, at Petertide 2009 the folowing ordinands from S. Michael's were ordained:
Fr Daniel Sandham, serving at S. Mary the Virgin, Hendon
Fr David Weaver, serving at All Saints, Hove
Fr David Beresford, serving at S. James the Less, Lancing
Fr Mark Emminson was recently ordained priest after serving as Pastoral Assistant at S. Michael's, completing his formation at Westcott House, Cambridge and serving as a Deacon for 12 months.
Father Robert and Father Gareth would welcome any enquiries from men with regard to vocations at whatever stage of discernment you may be at.
Saint Michael's wholeheartedly supports the work of the Additional Curates Society, for whose support we are greatly indebted, and also the Catholic Socities Vocations Initiative . Information on both of these organisations can be found here:
